Calhoun Honors Discovery Program
“The Calhoun Honors Discovery Program (CHDP) combines a structured disciplinary education with an open-ended, collaborative, and transdisciplinary discovery process. Students collaborate with one another across disciplines, as well as work alongside our faculty, industry, and non-profit partners. After four years of learning the process of discovery, innovation, and problem-solving, students will be prepared to face the real world.” - The Calhoun Honors Discovery Program
Through this four-year pilot program, I've gained valuable experience working in transdisciplinary teams where we identify real-world problems, prototype solutions, and present those prototypes to our stakeholders.

Hypnos
Currently, I am part of team Hypnos within the Calhoun Honors Discovery Program. Our goal is to reduce the effects astronauts experience from continuous lack of sleep. By developing a prototype that can influence the astronaut’s circadian rhythm, we hope to provide them with a more consistent internal sleep schedule, similar to one they would experience back on Earth.
As part of the prototyping sub-team, part of my role is to create 3D renders and promotional videos for our prototypes.
For more information about our current project, visit our website.
Here is a trailer I edited and narrated for our team’s prototype from the Fall 2023 semester.
Renders
Below, you can find a series of renders I made for the team. The goal of these renders is to test the design of our prototype, to provide visual artifacts for our report and presentations, and to articulate our ideas before our physical prototype is complete.

The Moon Movers
The Moon Movers was my CHDP team from the Fall 2021 semester. Our goal was to produce a prototype solution designed to extract resources from the lunar surface. I was assigned many tasks, including taking the designed extraction device and creating animations for our presentations, doing research in the early stages of our prototype development, as well as assisting in physically constructing our prototype.
